About
Jaime @SkagwayAlutiiq
Jaime’s Alaskan Indigenous roots are Sugpiaq / Alutiiq from Kodiak Island. A descendant of a boarding school survivor that was taken from his family at the age of 4 and brought to Skagway to attend Pius X Mission for the remainder of his childhood.
The family grew up removed from the Sugpiaq culture but Jaime found inspiration to learn more about all Alaska Native people through exposure to the rich and vibrant Lingít culture in Southeast Alaska.
In her adult life, she has made it a priority to bring Alaska Native art, culture, history and truth back to the tribe, the community, vistors, and her family through historical research, education and art.
She has served on Skagway Traditional Council for over 20 years. Your purchase supports the tribe.
Gunalchéesh & Quyanaa for helping us provide for our future ancestors!
